LIFE IN ASHEVILLE, NC IN MARCH - DAY 3

So it's Tuesday today, day 6 actually (Haven't had time to write)  - the last day before we return home and I am REALLY missing my farm!  City life is ok for most folks but not for me!  I realized yesterday that this is the first time in 7 years that i have not touched a horse in 6 days.  that's not right!  Even when I went to Rome and Greece in the summer of 2008, there were horses around to touch.  But i regress ~

It's raining this morning, the first since we got here, and so i feel a bit depressed, but the last 4 days have been so beautiful, it doesn't matter!  So with not being able to go outside, i will catch up with where we've been starting with day 3:

LIFE IN ASHEVILLE, NC IN MARCH - DAY 3:

This was an easy day, we spent the morning by just hangin' out and Bob helping Wes with the 'honey do' list, and to just spend time with Riley:

Then Kristi and I went to get a camera battery charger because of course, i forgot my battery charger at home.  We also stopped by the park and went for a hike in the woods.  Very necessary for me.  We had a lovely chat and got back to their house in time to get ready for the Roller Derby!  Yes, Roller Derby!  When Kristi and Wes were in Chicago for his fellowship, Kristi tried out for the Windy City Rollers and made the team.  We never did get to see her in a bout but we thought it would be fun to go see one sometime, so whattaya know: Asheville had their season opener that night - The Blue Ridge Roller Girls and the French Broads (there is a river here called the French Broad).

Plus these Roller Girls all have really great names, like One Hit WoundHer, or Dr Octopushy, and their coach Trey LaTrash.  Kristi's name was Maude Slambowski. Nice.

The half time show was by Asheville Hoops Troupe: a group of 4 girls and one guy who did a routine to music using lighted hula hoops, totally cool!

It was a fun night! Tomorrow: River Arts District!
